A brain game for seniors that is easy to start

Many brain games for seniors are cluttered with ads, small text or timers. Candy Path is one puzzle a day with a clear rule, big squares and nothing that rushes you.

Why it suits older players

  • One rule. Draw one line through the numbers in order and fill every square. Explained once, remembered after.
  • No reading needed. The puzzle uses numbers and squares only. Poor eyesight for small print is less of a problem, and it works in any language.
  • No time limit. The daily puzzle shows how long you took, but nothing ends when time passes.
  • No ads in the app. No pop-ups to close by accident.
  • Mistakes are cheap. Drag back over the line to undo, square by square.

The puzzle: start at 1, end at 4, fill all squares.

Solved. Each day brings a new board like this one, a little bigger.

Will it keep the mind sharp?

We will not promise that. Research on brain games is mixed, and no game is proven to prevent memory loss. What a daily puzzle does give is a small, satisfying task at the same time each day, and something to talk about with family who play the same board.

Setting it up for a parent or grandparent

  1. Open candypath.app/daily on their phone, tablet or computer. No account, no password.
  2. Solve the first puzzle together. The rules are on the how to play page with pictures.
  3. Add it to their home screen, or install the app for a gentle daily reminder.
  4. Play the same daily puzzle yourself and compare. Friends in the app see each other's times.

Tips for a good start

  • A tablet is easier than a small phone. In the app you can turn on zoom so the view follows the line.
  • Sound and vibration can be switched off in Settings.
  • If a board feels stuck, look at the corners first. The line must pass through both neighbours of a corner. More in our tips.
